1970s Dia Design Institute America Smoked Glass and Chrome Sofa Console Table

Sleek vintage sofa or console table by Design Institute America, retaining its original DIA label and model number 86708. The table has a dark smoked glass inset top with a matching smoked chrome frame and four simple squared legs. The slightly bowed front and clipped corners give the table a much more interesting shape than a standard rectangular console. It has a clean, understated look that works well with both Mid Century Modern and 1970s contemporary interiors.

DIA produced a wide range of chrome and glass occasional furniture during this period, and similar smoked chrome tables are generally dated to the 1970s. Very solid and well made with a substantial feel.

Dimensions:

56" wide

20" deep

27.75" high

Condition

Good vintage condition with normal wear from age and use. There are scattered fine scratches to the smoked glass top and some light surface wear and scratching to the chrome frame. Nothing is especially deep or glaring, and the table presents nicely overall. Please see photos for details.
