 A late 19th century antique secretary desk bookcase with a classic two part form, featuring a glazed upper cabinet with divided panes over a drop front writing surface and lower drawers. The piece is crafted with flame mahogany veneer, showing strong figuring across the drawer fronts and case, along with subtle inlay details on the legs. The interior opens to a green felt writing surface, making it both functional and visually appealing. The proportions are balanced and work well in a variety of interiors. Measures 31 inches wide, 18.5 inches deep, and 75 inches high when closed, with the writing surface extending the depth to 25.5 inches when open. An attractive and functional antique piece suited for storage and writing. Structurally sound and presents well. There is visible veneer wear including areas of loss and edge wear, along with general surface wear consistent with age and use. Light wear to the front bookshelf door wood trim.
